We are the Architecture & Innovation team in Capital Markets IT, driving transformation through data-centricity, cloud adoption, and AI/ML experimentation. Our mission is to shape the next-generation platforms that power global capital markets.
Role overview
We are looking for a Data Platform Architecture & Engineering Intern to join our Architecture & Innovation team. This is a critical role in our Capital Markets IT department, responsible for designing, building, and optimizing modern data platforms that enable data-driven decision-making across global capital markets operations.
As a Data Platform Intern, you will gain hands-on experience in building scalable, cloud-native data infrastructure by collaborating with architects, data engineers, and business stakeholders. You will work on data ingestion pipelines, storage optimization, data quality frameworks, and analytics enablement. You will also be exposed to DevOps practices, including automation, CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, and infrastructure as code, to help streamline data platform development and deployment processes.
Mission & Responsibilities
Data Platform Design and Development
- Support the design and implementation of data ingestion pipelines for capital markets data (trade data, market data, reference data, risk metrics).
- Work with AWS/Azure cloud services (S3, Data Lake, Databricks, Synapse, Redshift) to build and optimize data storage and processing solutions.
- Assist in implementing data quality frameworks and data governance practices.
- Develop data transformation workflows using modern data engineering tools (Spark, Airflow, dbt).
- Explore streaming data architectures and real-time analytics use cases.
- Document data platform patterns, best practices, and contribute to the architecture knowledge base and reusable assets.
- Collaborate with global teams (Singapore, Paris, other hubs) and present findings in knowledge-sharing sessions.
Qualifications and Profile
- Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Systems, or related field.
- Basic knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and infrastructure as code (Terraform, CloudFormation).
- Exposure to programming languages, data engineering concepts and tools (SQL, Python, Java (must have), Spark, Kafka).
- Familiarity with data modeling, ETL/ELT processes, and data warehousing principles.
- Understanding of data quality, data governance, and metadata management is a plus.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset.
- Good communication skills and ability to work in a global, collaborative environment.
The scope will be adapted depending on the situation and the progress of the trainee.
